Area Director Zer Yang started his career with Bojangles’ at the age of 16, where he worked as a crew member at the Bojangles’ located in Conover, N.C. Taking a short break to complete his Bachelor’s Degree, Zer returned to his Bojangles’ career as an Assistant Unit Director in Conover, N.C.
Being named to Area Director in 2012, Zer is responsible for the operations of 8 stores in Burlington, N.C. He works tirelessly every day to make sure each Bojangles’ customer has an exceptional experience no matter which store they frequent. Zer displays characteristics that make him a wonderful ambassador for the Bojangles’ brand, including his dedication to giving back to the community. In partnership with St. Jude, Zer has helped to raise $18K, locally, in support of the hospital’s mission to find a cure for childhood cancer. Zer cites his most rewarding moment with Bojangles’ as the day his area was named #1 across the company in its fundraising efforts for St. Jude.
It didn’t take long for Amanda Summerall to realize that Bojangles’ was the place for her when she began her career with the brand over 10 years ago. Now serving as Area Director in the Concord, NC market, Amanda is an invaluable member of the Bojangles’ team who won Unit Director of the Year in 2015. “It’s all about the people in this business,” says Summerall. “I am so thankful to work for a brand that values others, and I’m so grateful for those who have impacted me thus far in my career. I only hope to impact someone else’s life the way mine has been.”
Representing the Bojangles’ culture of servant leadership, Amanda has a positive influence on those she encounters every day in her stores, from customers to fellow Bojangles’ team members.
This year, Area Director Sharon Irwin will celebrate 23 years with Bojangles’, where she first started as a cashier in 1993. In 1998, Sharon was promoted to Unit Director of the Owen Drive Bojangles’ in Fayetteville, and at the time was the youngest unit director in company history. She relocated to Greensboro, N.C., for a short time before assuming her current role and moving back home to Fayetteville, N.C. She recalls her move to Fayetteville four years ago as being one of the most rewarding moments with the company. “To know that Bojangles’ wanted me to take over and lead my hometown market was a very gratifying feeling,” said Irwin. “I am so happy living and working in this area, and I love serving my customers each and every day.”
In her free time, Sharon enjoys spending time with her two children and their weekly movie nights. Her favorite Bojangles’ menu items are the Chicken Supremes and Dirty Rice.
Celebrating 30 years with Bojangles’, Tina Glover has been with the company since she began working as a crew member in 1986. Now as the Director of Operations in the Columbia, S.C., region, Tina continues to excel as a representative of the Bojangles’ brand overseeing 20 stores. Tina works to ensure Bojangles’ customers always get the best-tasting, highest quality products, including her favorite menu item Bojangles famous fried chicken.
Tina recalls her most rewarding moment with Bojangles’ as the months spent in 2009 opening the brand’s newest restaurants in Alabama, and working side-by-side with other company departments including training and operations.
As a Columbia, S.C., native, Tina enjoys shopping and spending time with her daughters. Her life motto commonly referred to as the “Golden Rule” is to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
